Fish Creel in Anderson

Really enjoy the western chicken plate and my husband loves to go for the fish and salad bar.

The atmosphere was great the waitresses we're great the food was simply marvelous. I loved it!

Pickled tomatoes are amazing! Catfish was tasty and wasn't greasy either. Mustard potato salad is a must have as well.

This place is always packed which is a great sign a great service and awesome food! A salad bar is huge and the seafood is incredible. The prices are not too expensive. You will enjoy your visit. Perfect for couples, families, Church groups and everyone. We driving from Nashville as often as we can to go eat here!

Always make the stop when going through Anderson or definitely worth the trip from out Lawrence Co Tn home for the fish or fried oysters. They’ve never let us down yet. Always great service and great food. Really great people. Very clean restaurant. Made a stop today (May 19) great to get back there after being stuck inside and the restaurant closures.

This place is a long time favorite mom and pop restaurant with a good variety menu, great service, and delicious food! The fish is perfect. The freshest and best salad bar anywhere! Lunch has a meat and 2 with drink and dessert for only $6. Bring cash or check. No plastic. I love their New Orleans fresh chicken fingers.

If you've never been to this gem nestled off the beaten path then you're missing a real treat. Everything was amazing! The staff are some of the sweetest folks you'll ever meet. Do whatever you have to do to find this place! You can't miss the lighthouse. Thank me later. 😉

Was a great place to eat. The staff was very nice and the food was delicious. If you like catfish and homemade hush puppies then you need to get your self there. Also has a great salad bar. All in all I will be back.

We really have been treated with respect and dignity here. Everyone is friendly, kind, sweet and any other good words you can think of. Food is great, service is very good, greeted with a smile and a very kind voice. Depending on what time you come you might have to wait a few minutes to be seated because of how many people come to this great restaurant. Come and check them out. I'm on a quest to find the best catfish in Lauderdale County, AL. I started off on the right foot. The Fish Creel in Anderson, Alabama has a friendly environment with kind workers and customers. The service was excellent as we were always checked on by waitresses. The salad bar is...fantastic. The thousand island salad dressing is homemade with a delicious taste. People were lining up just to get a salad plate. The Old New Orleans fried catfish plate is tasty which is cooked in a hot sauce batter. The Fish Creel gives you significant portions that WILL FILL YOU UP. Give them a try if you haven't. They deserve good business.

Excellent food and atmosphere

We drive 45 minutes to get here. Very very nice restaurant has a beautiful light house on the front. They done a very good job and display stays very busy and not a bad place to eat it all the only downside is they do not take debit or credit you better have cash they don't have an ATM either

food was delicious, hush puppies were bountiful, home made tartar sauce was great, full salad bar. well worth it if your out that way.

Amazing staff. Waiters bought refills before asking. Food was good. I didnt see a item that was over 20$. Brought hush puppies from the start. Amazing country store feel.

My favorite restaurant. You won’t find anywhere better in my opinion. Try the New Orleans style catfish and do yourself a favor and order extra hush puppies.

We came through town on a Friday afternoon and stopped in for a late lunch. Imagine my surprise when I found out they had chicken and dressing for the plate lunch special. I will make a special trip back to this wonderful restaurant for this home style lunch. I’ve also had the catfish, which is really good. The salad bar is always fresh and delicious too. It’s worth the side trip off the main road to eat at this quaint place! HOWEVER, they only take checks and cash, so be prepared.

Great service. The chicken tenders with seasoning were delicious. FYI, they only take cash or check. The salad bar came with each entree. It had a good variety of items.

Service is always great. Generous portions. Salad bar is free with every meal. Just don't bring your debit card! Cash or checks only. Oh, you won't be shelling out much...prices are great!

Ask for chicken fingers to be cooked extra crispy and they were not. Everything else was good.

Friendly staff, quality seafood with appropriate quantities. Reasonable price point. Some of the biggest oysters I have seen in years.

Love the catfish hushpuppyies and the salad bar are all top shelf. I would prefer that my whole catfish weren't scored before before frying but that's just me.

Good fish for a restaurant

We've eaten here twice in the past 2 months. The food is great, and the service is top notch. We love the salad bar as well. I myself, wasn't too fond of the shrimp, it wasn't nasty, I just wasn't. The fish is great, and hush puppies are wonderful. Definitely worth going and trying. TWO WARNINGS!!1) If it's raining, be careful as the floors are slippery.2) If your REALLY hungry dont let your eyes be bigger than your stomach, because their portions are large and in charge...
